Horse Racing Tips for Queanbeyan 23/1/24

Racing heads to Queanbeyan this Tuesday with a competitive card assembled.

The rail is in the true position for the entire course and the surface has come up as a Soft 5.

With further rain expected this could get a further downgrade.

Race 4 #4 O'Explosive $3.60

An early drift means we are getting a big price for this talented Zoustar gelding.

On debut he badly missed the jump and had to race at the rear of the field.

This is against his normal racing pattern and he paid the price finishing last in a strung out field.

He was spelled straight away and sent back to the stables to fix this.

While he still isn't perfect at jumping, he is slowly improving.

He draws barrier 3 here which will allow him to find a spot in running even with a sluggish start.

He is the most talented runner in this field and granted he jumps with them, should be storming home over the top of his rivals here.

 

Race 5 #7 Romantic Rock $10.00

This is a huge price for this mare who has always shown promise.

Her last start effort looks poor on paper but a post-race veterinary examination revealed her to be displaying cardiac arrhythmia for the first time.

She has since been passed to race again and will appreciate the drop back to country level.

Olivia Chambers takes the reins and will get her down to 54.5kg.

There is no issues with race fitness being fourth up this preperation and excels in tracks with the cut out of them.

Looks well placed to be in the finish.
