Grafton gears up for a huge Thursday with 8 races set for decision.

The track has been hit with scattered showers and has come up as a Soft 5 with the rail in the true.

It isn't always the smartest move to put your faith in a 11 race maiden, but this 4YO gelding is racing in career best form.

He brings some brilliant formlines into this event through the QLD metro scene and if you forgive the last start failure at Doomben, looks in this event up to his teeth.

From barrier 1 he can land in a handy position and Matthew McGuren has previous experience on him.

Handles all track conditions and looks suited back at 1400m.

Great value in a very even field.

 

Race 7 #2 Cannon $5.00

I'm really not sure why this Howells trained gelding isn't favourite.

As a young horse he contested some hot races through the Victorian provincial and metro scene, rarely being disgraced.

He wasn't able to break his maiden and unfortunately his time ran out with the Hawkes camp.

But one man's junk is another man's treasure and this runner is set to dominate the NSW country scene over the coming months.

He has a great racing pattern and will land in the first 4 runners under Matt McGuren.

The soft track is of no concern and he should be too sharp for these rivals.
