It was a pleasing debut effort for this talented filly out of I Am Invincible.

She landed in the box seat and had every chance to run on strongly.

She entered that contest with a 6 week break between trials and race day, with her conditioning showing late.

She faded over the final 100m but the 6th on paper is probably harsh.

Zac Lloyd who was in the saddle on that occasion, got warned by stewards to ensure he fully rides his mount out.

If Lloyd had done so, she should have finished 3rd.

Now second up, she will strip fitter and gets Tim Clark aboard.

Look for a positive ride and for her to take up the running.

Gets plenty in her favour here and looks the bet of the day.

 

Race 5 #6 Smart As Smart $11.00

Horses for courses with this 4YO gelding, as he returns to a track he has a great affinity with.

Smart As Smart has been solid this campaign over unsuited shorter distances and now gets out to the mile (2:1-1-0) which will suit.

He flies around Gosford (3:2-1-0) and Louise Day retains the ride. 

From the draw he can land in the moving line and be saved for one final crack at them.

There is enough pace in this event for it to be run true and he represents great value on an each-way quote.
