How did our resident tipsters fare?

Lays of the Day review

James Beeson couldn't have been any more spot on with his lays of the day article last Saturday.

He identified two banana skins that were set to slip punters up.

Both were considered too short in the market and Beeso's analysis was bang on the mark yet again.

To see which horses he's putting a line throgh this week, read this week's column here.

His first lay was the $2.40 fav Fanciful Toff in Randwick Race 5.

Despite coming off a win, this stayer was now being asked to carry the top weight of 60.5kg in a deeper field than last time.

On top of this, Fanciful Toff faced a tough run from an outside gate.

All this counted against him, as he drifted right out of the race to finish a long way back in 8th.

Beeson's second lay was Dr Drill in Randwick Race 6.

Like Fanciful Toff, this $2.45 favourite was another runner coming up to Sydney to take on some tough middle distance runners.

With an ugly speed map jam-packed with speed, Dr Drill also faced a tough task from a wide barrier.

While he ran a big race, Dr Drill was no match for the winner Wu Gok.

Early Market Movers Review

This popular article presents tips based on the way the market reacts after it opens early in the week.

After getting punters off to a great start in Randwick with Rule The World, the proven model then detected a move for short priced winner Buffalo River at Flemington.

And once again, it steered punters into a handful of good winners.

The biggest go was for Future Score in Flemington Race 4, who firmed into $2.90 from an opening quote of $4.00.

This represented a big 9.48% move in the market, which should hsve sent alarm bells ringing for punters..

The smart punter were bang on the money, as Future Score flew home out wide to greet the judge.

Best Bets for Saturday races review

Michael Gannon continued his strong form, and found another winner with his best bet of the day.

One of our other resident tipsters also found a winning tip with his best bet.

Find out who that was below.

Free racing tip from Michael Gannon

Randwick Race 1:  #2 Rule The World

Gannon backed this Waterhouse and Bott gelding off his impressive first career start.

There he had a tough run but showed plenty of fight to hold off the promising Exceed The Stars.

And as Gannon highlighted, Exceed The Stars has since come out and franked that form with a win.

This was top form analysis, and it led to a winner for Gannon and his followers in the first.

Free Racing Tips from Ben Beare

Newcastle Race 4: #1 Aloneinabaa

Ben Beare was onto a good thing here.

Aloneinabaa had twice over-raced in his previous campaign, but his talent was there for all to see.

And after a spell, Beare was confident that this Richard Freedman-trained gelding would be better in his return to racing.

While it was far from convincing, Aloneinabaa still had too much quality and got the win.

Randwick Race 2: #1 I Am Captain?

Free Racing Tips from Matt Buckland

Randwick Race 7: #9 Epic Dan (each way)

Matt Buckland went with a roughie with the first of his best bets.

While there was some solid reasoning behind his tip, it finished towards the tail of the field.

Flemington Race 5: #3 Rubisaki

After a brilliant first-up run, Rubisaki was definitely the one to beat here.

She ran a strong race, but fell agonzingly short with a narrow second-placed finish.
