At starting odds of $61 Coal Crusher gave backers a run for their money last week in the Giga Kick Stakes!

If he managed to cross earlier he would have been right in the finish, considering he finished a 2L 4th.

Luke Hovhanesian is now eager to go one better and land that huge longshot.

Luke's Horse Racing Longshots for Rosehill

Rosehill Race 4 #5 Unrelenting $12.00

Last Start Effort

This Pride Of Dubai Gelding was brilliant when first up at Randwick.

From barrier 15 he pinged out of the gates but was stuck in no man's land.

Jockey Adam Hyeronimus had no choice but to drag him back to the rear of the field.

Rearward and wide, he had every right to fade on a day when they struggled to make ground.

He picked himself up, spun 12 wide on the bend and charged through the line.

The step up to 1400m is perfect here; importantly, he draws a great barrier to land close to the pace.

Adam Hyeronimus sticks and is in blistering form.

Matthew Dale is a master of placing his horses and will have had this as a target race.

Check out the last start effort of Unrelenting jumping from barrier 15.

Racing Pattern

Looking back through his past 10 runs, his peak performances have come when leading.

The next part is the key indicator to his chances.

He finds a Highway that is lacking in genuine tempo.

This is extremely rare. These are normally run at a blistering pace meaning the backmarkers are suited.

He is set to either sit outside the leader or land the box seat.

This is going to give him every chance to power down the straight.

Rosehill Race 8 #11 Detonator Jack $11.00

Last Start Effort

If you were on either Detonator Jack or Waterford last start you would still be licking your wounds.

Both were beaten by less than 0.1L of a length by Palmetto in a driving finish.

Of the three Detonator Jack easily had the most work to do in the worst part of the track.

He had to weave in and out of horses to put himself right in the finish.

He now rises to 1800m, a distance which will suit and is set to get a track with the cut out of it.

From barrier 6 he will land worse than midfield and get a perfect run off the speed.

Ratings Performance

Off key data, Detonator Jack's price is the value play in this field.

He holds the second-quickest final 600m ranking and is first for the final 400m ranking.

If he can stay in touch with them early here, he can pull to the outside and put a hole in his rivals.

Can see him starting much shorter come race time especially if the rain comes.
