Horse Racing Roughies and Longshots Tips at Randwick 27/1/24

Racing returns to Randwick and Luke Hovhanesian has lined up two roughies that can surprise.

The rail is out 9m from the 1000m to the winning post and out 6m the remainder.

Luke has a knack of nailing these hidden gems so don't miss the early prices.

 

 

Horse Racing Longshots for Randwick

Randwick Race 9 #6 Amor Victorious $12.00

This 4YO gelding went to a new level last campaign, working through the grades with ease.

It culminated in having a crack in the Dubbo cup where he was far from disgraced against some quality opposition.

He has been given a nice spell and has returned to the trials in great style.

In both hit-outs he has sat off the speed and powered to the line.

Josh Parr who has rode him previously takes the reins and importantly he draws well in barrier 4 to punch up and land in a handy position.

He excels on good tracks and the long Randwick straight will give him plenty of time to wind up.

Looks a massive price currently and I expect him to start in single figures.

Rosehill Race 7 #9 Dajraan $18.00

This 6YO horse failed to come up last year and produced some poor performances when the market expected more.

He was spelled over the new year period and has returned to trials since.

His recent piece of work at Canterbury was encouraging and I like how the Waterhouse / Bott team are starting him out over 1400m.

He will sit outside the leader from barrier 5 and gets the best front running jockey in the country Tim Clark back aboard.

His best is more than enough to win this race and with a suspected leaders bias at Randwick this weekend, he could prove very hard to reel in.
