Horse Racing Roughies and Longshots Tips at Randwick 2/3/24

Luke Hovhanesian continues to find runners who perform above market expectation.

This week he tackles Randwick and has found two at monster quotes who can surprise.

Horse Racing Longshots for Randwick

Randwick Race 6 #12 Diddle Dumpling $71.00

The price on offer for this 2YO filly is well overs considering the SP profile she brought into her debut run ($1.80).

In typical Ryan / Alexiou style she had been taught to be on pace and control the race in the trials.

As a result, when she half missed the kick on debut and had to sit rearward, she over raced badly pulling her head off the first 600m.

She wasn't able to let down like she showed previously and did well to finish only 2L off the winner.

With the race experience now on her side and the soft draw of barrier 2, I am expecting her to jump much better and put herself into the race early.

There isn't much early pressure here and the other leader Chateau Miraval should happily sit outside her.

If the two of them dictate the event from the front it could be a sharp sprint home and this will give Diddle Dumpling every chance to be in the finish.

Represents big value especially at the $12 place price.

 

Randwick Race 8 #10 Roll On High $13.00

No stranger to a wide barrier, Roll On High is going to hop the border and tackle Sydney racing for the first time.

It was a brilliant end to the campaign at Flemington, coming from last at the 400m mark to beat Joliestar and Kimochi.

That is excellent form for a race of this nature and considering Billy Egan is making the trip over to ride her here, I'm expecting she is fit and firing.

The Moody / Coleman partnership is starting to hit top gear again and Roll On High is going to get a great race shape to run on strongly.

She should start in single figures and put the writing on the wall for a big Autumn campaign.
