Free Horse Racing Tips for Eagle Farm 23/12/23

Eagle Farm heats up this weekend as stables prepare for the elusive Gold Coast Magic Millions in early January, with some guns moving up to QLD to make their statements.

Punters will need to keep an eye on the condition of the track as we move closer to Saturday, as while it is currently rated a Good 4, rain is expected to hit.

This week's card is headlined by the B.J McLachlan Stakes, with gun two year old Storm Boy out of the Waterhouse/Bott yard opening markets at $1.35.

Race 2 #1 Winston Smurfhill $9.00/$3.00

Already a market mover, opening at $13 and into $9 by Thursday, this gelding has proven that he performs best over the mile.

In his opening race of this prep, excuses could be made, steaming home late to run a respectable 4th.

The opening odds sided against him but I think the current price represents huge value as he has the sectionals to be very competitive here.

I’ll be taking him each-way and granted he can stay in touch with them early, should be one of the best late.

 

Race 8 #1 Spacewalk $3.90/$1.70

This proven Godolphin gelding should prove too sharp for them here.

Yes, race favourite Zarastro has been flying, but keep in mind he’s performing well in Brisbane which is a class below the form lines down south.

Spacewalk has been a model of consistency this campaign with two wins and two seconds.

Even further when you assess his two placings, you could make excuses as to why he didn't win.

No excuses this time, he is knocking down the door to be a black-type winner and James Cummings will know that this is make or break.

With Blake Shinn aboard, he should be right in the finish.
