Free Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets for Sha Tin 24/1/24

It’s an all-weather night meeting at Sha Tin with 8 races set to be run.

It's going to be quite cold and dry, with a predicted temperature of 5°C come start time. 

We had the first all-weather night for the season on October 25 and the front runners dominanted.

The track should play similar and you wouldn't want your runner getting back worse than midfield.

 

 

Sha Tin Race 2 #6 Alacrity Jamie $7.00

The Jamie Richards trained Alacrity is going to make his all-weather debut tonight, under Karis Teetan from gate 7.

As a son of Lookin At Lucky, he should handle the all-weather track well, like the retired Class 2 winner Hong Kong Great who is from the same sire.

Alacrity has had 5 starts already this season and has run well over 1200m and 1400m.

He was beaten by Helio Express last time out over 1600m by 3.5L and considering the opposition in that race, it wasn't a bad effort.

He now rises to 1650m which suits him and from the draw should land in the box seat.

With a touch of luck slotting in early he looks well over the odds.

 

Sha Tin Race 8 #2 Yellowfin $7.00

Yellowfin is a fast horse with good gate speed.

He can get to the rails easily and lead from gate 8 under Lyle Hewitson who knows the horse well.

His last few runs have been encouraging including a 3.25L win two back.

This Francie Lui-trained gelding had an impressive barrier trial on January 12, showing he is very fit now.

Reuniting with Lyle Hewitson is interesting as this South African jockey piloted this horse for all his 3 wins in Hong Kong.

Looks great odds to play.
