Race 2 #2 Trafalgar Square $5.50

I'm surprised this 2YO filly isn't closer to favourite in this field.

She has put together two great runs this campaign and can peak here third up.

Last start in Group 3 company, she got a mile back in the run and while she ran on strongly, couldn't bridge the gap.

She draws much better here in barrier 1 and can sit closer in the run which will give her every chance.

She just needs the gaps the open in the straight to shoot through and break her maiden status.

 

Race 3 #4 Dark Arts $4.40

The Hawkes camp have been very patient with this talented colt, giving him plenty of time to mature and develop.

He has always indicated he is above average, and he has shown glimpses of it at all trips to the track whether on race day or the trials.

He finds himself in a stacked maiden here but has the talent to measure up.

From barrier 9 he will need a good steer and Tommy Berry can give him just that from an off speed position.

Will be flying home over the concluding stages.
