Free Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets at Gawler 20/1/24

Racing in SA this week sees us venture to Gawler with the rail out 5m from 800 to the 400m and 3m the remainder.

Gawler is a track traditionally renowned for on-pacers and with the rail out I can’t see that changing.

I've found two plays that have come up at backable prices for followers.

 

 

Best Bets for Gawler by Heath Pope

Race 5 #6 Rockstar Meggsy $3.50

Talented Jon O’Connor trained mare that has again returned in fine style this campaign, producing two slashing efforts.

First-up she charged hard before missing by the barest of margins behind the flying, My Ruby, a race that has since produced four subsequent winners.

Last time out, she was stepped up to the more favourable 1200m when scoring with plenty in hand.

Obviously there is more depth here however she gets in great at the weights, dropping down to just 54kg, whilst mapping to again settle not too far off them.

Simply can’t see how her main rivals can be all asked to concede this mare so much at the weights.

Real keen to be betting up here.

Rates a cracking bet at $2.30 or better!

 

Race 7 #2 Zebella $2.50

Tried my best to find reasons not to tip this mare having seemingly blown victory in each of her two race starts this campaign, however she gets too much in her favour here.

She gets a soft lead or if they elect to hand up, at worst settles handy in a race with absolutely no pressure up front.

This is a drop in grade from her previous starts and looks the class runner of the field.

The icing on the cake however is she is so suited to Gawler, whilst the addition of blinkers appears huge.

Gets young apprentice Rachel Milnes 3kg claim, and she is in terrific form at the moment.

She will give us a huge sight here third-up.
