Race 2 – #10 Affari $2.60

Affari was a significant drifter in betting first-up two weeks ago, but her performance was much better than the market expected.

She ran an excellent race to finish second alongside a stablemate who has some strong wraps on her and should take plenty of improvement from that return.

Barrier one gives her every opportunity to enjoy an economical run, while the booking of James McDonald is a major push for her chances.

Cantero is clearly the danger after running second to the handy Savagram on debut.

He draws better this time and should be able to settle closer, but Affari gets the nod with the benefit of that first-up run and J-Mac taking over.

Race 4 – #4 Café Au Lait $2.70

Café Au Lait is a big watch first-up and looks well placed to make her presence felt immediately.

She continued to improve throughout her previous preparation before breaking through third-up, and her trials suggest she's returned in good order.

The trip suits, barrier one gives her a soft setup and she's already proven she can handle a heavy track.

Add James McDonald to the equation and Café Au Lait gets every chance to produce a big run fresh. She'll be right in the finish.
