Run on types with cover favoured

This week we have identified two races at Flemington where there looks to be plenty of early speed, setting it up nicely for horses entered with likely run-on profiles. These selections will both be charging at the line late, and using their speed map favours, hold a distinct advantage.

Flemington Tip Race 2 #6 Prezado

Looks to have drawn the right part of the track in gate 9 for straight racing at Flemington, where the middle to outside rail lanes are likely to be favoured. Rider Damien Lane holds all the cards and the instruction will likely be to find cover in behind the leaders and present over the final 200.

Predicted leaders Credible Witness, Sunday Escape and Huge Action will show plenty of dash and this should set it up well for a horse with cover, and the right middle-to-outside lane to present into.

This gelding has been heavily supported in early betting ($3.60 into $2.25) and with a move like that you can be assured that the bigger model punters will love what the speed maps are saying for Prezado.

Will be darting through late to claim them all.

Flemington Tip Race 3 #2 Ruban Bleu

From gate 1 this colt will receive a nice smother in behind, what most anticipate, being a hot speed.

Going off the last start effort where he settled third, look for Jordan Childs to use the good gate and hunt up behind the leading pack to be no worse than midfield.

If Tavisan (drawn the outside) decides to scream across and find a forward position, if not lead, this will inject the necessary tempo into the race to allow Ruben Bleu to run on strongly.

He may need some luck back toward the inside however if that run does not come, he’ll be able to shoulder a few tired horses out of the way and angle toward the clean air on the outside.

Looks a progressive type and gets the speed map to suit on Saturday. Yes.
