Flemington Tips for the Turnbull Stakes 2022

Best Bets for the Turnbull Stakes

This year's Turnbull Stakes appears wide open, with a number of key chances engaged at different stages of their preparations.
I'm with a classy Edward Cummings runner who could be a potential superstar, following this Spring's feature racing.
A Maher/Eustace import also adds plenty of spice to this race, with reports he is flying at home and highly regarded by their data team.
The chances don't end there! and if you can find the winner expect a nice reward with the price.
Track Assessment
The Flemington track is currently rated a Good 4 with the rail out 9m for the entire circuit.
Overcast conditions are predicted for the remainder of the week in Melbourne.
The Flemington surface generally races fair with both on and off-speed profiles having their chance. Mid-Field with cover can at times be an advantage.
As always refer to the early races for a good guide on track bias.

The Map
Knights Order (14) looks the clear leader here and should roll across the face of the field to take up the running.
Profondo (7) and Smokin Romans(6) should both be given positive rides out of the gates and are expected to race in the first half of the field.
Duias (5) and Inspirational Girl (13) are the two that will be hoping there is enough tempo to run home from the back off the pace.
Overall a moderate tempo is predicted.
The Favourite
The Maher/Eustace stable has huge wraps on Gold Trip ($3.80) and is a touted a gun import.
He did run well last start, when finally out to a more suitable trip of 2000m.
Expect he is very well suited by the wide-open spaces of Flemington, where he will have plenty of time/room to stoke up and charge at them late.
Analysis and Tips
I'm with Duais who should be close to peaking now and was just too good last preparation to ignore.
She looks like a potential superstar and can be forgiven for the two lead-up runs over the unsuitably short ground.
She will relish the 2000m of this and be very hard to beat.
Gold Trip is improving at every Australian start and the stable hype is reaching fever pitch in regards to what he is showing them at home.
We must respect the good judges and data team at the gun stale.
Smoking Romans chalked up a nice win last start at Caulfield in the Naturalism, where did beat Gold Trip home.
He has always had the talent and could surprise a few of these again here.
Surefire has the Waller polish and brings the Sydney form....both factors can often be superior!
I like the different form angle here and it would not surprise me to see this horse collar them all late.
1st Duais
2nd Gold Trip
3rd Smokin Romans
4th Surefire
