One of the best sights in Australian racing is a Group 1 feature meeting at Flemington and punters are blessed with exactly that this Saturday.

A monster 10-race program is ahead of us with the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes down the 1000m straight the headline

The track is currently a Good 4 and with fine weather conditions, it should be upgraded to a Good 3 on race day.

The running rail is in the True position, which will see the track play fairly and give every runner an opportunity to win.

With such a big program, there are plenty of bets to be had and these are two that deserve strong consideration.

Cody continues to nail his best bets at a good clip.

Flemington Tips and Best Bets

Flemington Race 5 #4 Vagrant $7.50

This mare completed a hat-trick of wins last start and became a Group 3 winner as an impressive victor of the Bellmaine Stakes at Caulfield over 1200m.

She has since had an impressive jump out victory at Ararat and looks to be in great order for this step up in class.

While she steps back up to the 1400m here, she was dominant at this same set up two runs back.

Throw in that she also gets the services of top senior jockey Ben Melham aboard for the ride and she will get the run of the race, a few pairs back from the speed.

She will appreciate the fast tempo that will likely be set in front and has the fitness edge on some of her rivals here with a touch more class.

With the right luck in running, should go very close to making it four straight wins.

Flemington Race 6 #2 Mollynickers $3.60

Smart 3yo filly by Pierro returning from a spell here.

She showcased her potential top-line ability last preparation with a couple of wins and two 4ths at Listed and Group 1 level.

She was enormous in the Group 1 Flight Stakes last start, having to come off heels and charge home from a long way back.

I am expecting her to be back towards the rear here, but Flemington is one of the best tracks in Australia for backmarkers being a winning chance.

She has had two solid jump outs leading in at Pakenham, where she was not asked for any effort and hit the line well under her own steam to finish 4th in both.

She can win this in nice fashion and go on to some handy races this Autumn for the Moody & Coleman stable.
