Flemington form experts revealed for Cup week

 AAP

The four-day Flemington Spring Racing Carnival is upon us, where the best horses all get their chance over the wide and expansive bends and straights at Flemington racecourse.

Punters are faced with a racing frenzy at the home of the Cup over coming days:

  • the Group-racing bonanza on Derby Day,
  • the challenging Melbourne Cup Day,
  • an unpredictable Oaks Day and
  • the always competitive Stakes Day.

Punters will face almost 40 races at the grand track in a short eight day period. A taxing time for most, where studying form is likely to consume most of our waking hours.

It's the perfect excuse to have someone share the load. Someone with a history of profitable tips at the track, proven to have what it takes to win at Flemington with all it's favours and flaws.

We analysed the tipping statistics for Australia's racing media at Flemington and identified a handful of form experts who stood out from the rest. Form analysts who can well and truly call themselves Flemington form experts and have earned the attention of punters over coming days.

Flemington expert tips

Cameron Happ

Cameron Happ is one of the stand-out tipsters at Flemington. This Warrnambool native currently boasts 16% profit on turnover (POT) from tips placed at Flemington over past years.

With a healthy 34% win strike rate and a 54% place strike rate, Happ's Flemington tips are never far from the mark.

Matthew Hill

Matt Hill gets to observe Flemington very closely just about every time they race there. As Melbourne's number one race caller, Hill's memory catalogue is vast and detailed.

It's this depth of knowledge that surely explains his outstanding record at the track.

Since Matthew Hill made the switch to Victoria and replaced the legendary Greg Miles in the hot seat, he has recorded  an impressive 11% POT from his tips at the track with a 30% strike rate

Clinton Payne

Payne is Racenet's Sydney expert form analyst but that doesn't stop him getting amongst it when the Flemington Carnival is on. While Happ and Hill can add local knowledge to their CV in the Melbourne Spring, it hasn't stopped this bloke from proving himself as an expert at the track.

While Clinton Payne has recorded about a third as many tips as Hill has at Flemington, his 116% POT from selections posted for Flemington suggest he certainly knows what he's talking about when he goes south of the border for spring.

He's got value punters covered too, with the average price of his winners at the track showing a huge $10.50. Put Payne on your watch-list when you're looking for advice in Cup week.

Mitch Cohen

Finally, young journo Mitch Cohen has demonstrated that he know's a thing or two about Flemington.

Another analyst who resides north of the boarder, Cohen has some of the best Flemington tip stats amongst his peers. Punters following Cohen's Flemington tips with $100 win bets over time would be sitting pretty with a huge $4,840 profit.

Cohen tipped 22 winners at the track at an average winning price of $5.75, leading to a sensational 62% POT. That's an outstanding effort and one that certainly demonstrates a strong understanding for the track's traits and how they play out on race day.
