He sat near the rear of the field at the Sunshine Coast and ran into his fair share of trouble, having to weave a passage amongst runners.

Once he found clear air he hit the afterburners and rocketed home to win by 3L eased down.

That was his first attempt at 1400m and he is set to thrive here in a strongly run race.

With Tim Clark booked, look for him to be more positive in the run and use barrier 3 to his advantage.

All he needs is clear running in the straight to burn them over the concluding stages.

The winner of the Doomben 10,000 meets a similar field here and yet we are getting $6+.

She was slow away on that occasion and was held up on straightening, but showed the desire of a caged lion late.

The forecast 5-20mm of rain brings her right into this race given we're likely to be on a Soft 7 or worse come start time.

Her career peak rating comes over 1300m, she relishes rain affected conditions and retains the services of Craig Williams who has a an impressive record aboard this mare.

She'll land midfield with cover and should get every possible chance on turning for home.
