Stablemates clash in thrilling 10000

The Doomben 10,000 once again promises to be an ripping day of racing with a select but formidable group of contenders looking to commence their Brisbane campaign with a bang.
Historically, this event has been a reliable indicator for those targeting the prestigious Stradbroke Handicap later in the season.
'I Wish I Win' takes center stage in this field, seeking to clinch a second Group 1 victory having consistently placed in the top three over his career.
Esteemed past champions such as Giga Kick, Mazu, Apache Cat, and Spirit of Boom have all triumphed here.
Current conditions have softened the track to a Soft 7 and with the weather forecast, a shift to a Heavy 8 wouldn't be a shock.
Throw in the unforgiving nature of Doomben's starting points, the barriers will have a key part to play in the result of this race.
Professional analyst John Steinmetz has dissected the field, predicting a quinella between stablemates.

Speed Map
Since 1983, barriers 1 (I Wish I Win) and 5 (Chain of Lightning) have shared the spoils, with 6 wins in each draw.
Barrier 2 (Wee Nessy) should be of concern, with only 1 win coming in 40 years.
The speed should be quite moderate, with I Wish I Win, Chain Of Lightning, Bella Nipotina, Mazu, and Espiona all do their best work late.
It looks like the big roughie Body Bob (4) will jump from barrier 7 and control the pace.
Mazu (3) And Chain of Lightning (6) will both look to settle 2-3, but may face some struggles if Bella Nipotina (5) and Wee Nessy (8) shift out and restrict their running.
All reports on I Wish I Win (1) indicate a forward showing, as to not get stuck off the speed.
This leaves me with Private Eye (2) and Stefi Magnetica (9) to find themselves as backmarkers.
That leaves my speed map as:
Leader: Body Bob
On Pace: Chain of Lightning – Mazu
Off Pace: Bella Nipotina – Wee Nessy – I Wish I Win
Midfield: Espiona
Backmarkers: Private Eye – Stefi Magnetica

The Favourite
I am a big fan of I Wish I Win.
He’s has always raced well fresh and without misfortune, should have a few more wins to his name.
This is his race, and I’m with him.
The wet track won’t affect him, with a 67% place rate on soft and a 100% place rate on 4 races on heavy tracks.
“I think he’s taken fantastic improvement from his first up run, and I think he’s going to be very hard to beat,” co-trainer Katherine Coleman said after his win in a jump out following a brave third in the T J Smith Stakes behind stablemate Chain of Lightning.

Tips
As mentioned above, I’m with I Wish I Win in this one, however I think Chain of Lightning could sneak into the money.
The two stablemates trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman made the trip up this week, with Chain of Lightning being auctioned at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale next month.
How can we go past the two jockeys on board: James McDonald, who is aiming to break the Australian record for Group 1s in a season, and Jamie Kah, who has had a career-defining season and is easily one of the most in-form jockeys this season.
Others that may sneak into the minors are Stefi Magnetica (9) and Private Eye (2).
Stefi Magnetica comes into this race as the sole 3yo.
She was narrowly denied at big odds last start 11 weeks ago, and resumes off a nice trial at Randwick.
Although she hasn’t had much experience on a heavy track, her Soft track expertise is definitely one to watch.
In a similar fashion to Trainer Bjorn Bakers now two time Quokka winner Overpass, Stefi Magnetica also started her winning fashion in the country town of Orange.
Baker said this week that it's not where you start, its where you finish.
And It would be a dream come true for connections to see her over the line on Saturday.
Private Eye (2) is up there with the best going around right now, and similar to I Wish I Win, has been there abouts in the money each race.
The odds are a good reflection of the quality of the horse and the quality of the race.
