David Gately Early COX PLATE Preview

 

• ROMANTIC WARRIOR - Hong Kong Star with outstanding record. That QEII win at G1 level easily beating Dubai Honour (who beat 2022 Cox Plate winner Anamoe in Sydney in Spring) was exceptional. 
  
  
• WITHOUT A FIGHT - Word is they haven’t decided whether it is this race or Caulfield Cup and the need for dry ground may determine which way… They haven’t ruled out running in both though.
  
  
• LIGHT INFANTRY - Big spruik into G1 Golden Eagle last Spring and ran quite well. Since triple G1-placed including a third in G1 Queen Anne Stks. 2040m?
  
  
• AMELIA’S JEWEL - Potential star. Sprinted brilliantly last prep and have to think she is lengths better suited over further. Best win probably has been at 1800m. 2040m?
  
  
• PADDINGTON - World-class! Goes close if they go this way but early reports are it’s unlikely… We’ll see.
