David Gately QLD Derby Horse Racing Tips 1/6/24

All ratings for EAGLE FARM are for SOFT track.

We have SOFT-5 track as I type and some (not much) rain predicted leading into race-day, the problem may well be the 10-30mls predicted on Saturday (‘’afternoon and evening’’) so when that hits, and how much, who really knows!?

Rail is back TRUE.

We had 11m rail here last meeting and 3 (of the 9) winners led all the way but running on was no issue, most avoided inside lanes especially later in the day.

 

 

David Gately Saturday Best Bets 1/6/24

 

Race 8 - G1 Qld Derby - 3YO SW - 2400m

1. 18 - AUTUMN ANGEL - Beat two elite fillies in ATC Oaks then gap between runs and gave males a start back in trip latest before making good ground on key rival Tannhauser in lead-up. Fitter again back out to 2400m! Bet Of The Day for mine. 
2. 1 - TANNHAUSER - Excellent Vs savage bias Randwick then love the way he cruised into the race (first run as gelding) latest and was strong. The danger. 
3. 14 - SABAN - Wide a long way from home Flemington latest and terrific finale with big gaps behind him. Should eat 2400m. The value?
4. 8 - SONOFDEC - Won like a good one latest Vs older horses going from way back and won running away, clocking exceptional closing splits too. 
5. 2 - WARMONGER - Still learning but stays very well and love the way he builds speed. How far back from gate?
6. 5 - NAVY KING - Absorbed pressure Flem and raced away beating Saban, they spaced the rest.
