Bet of the Day – Race 5 No.4 On Display

Loved the way this mare went about it fresh, chasing down (and running past) a subsequent winner in Shadhavar while giving away weight, the pair putting a big gap on the rest.

Then, in the Let’s Elope, she looked to have plenty to offer before being poleaxed at a crucial stage.

That form has stacked up beautifully, with 3rd and 5th from that race quinellaing the Group 2 Sunline Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Back against her own age and sex, On Display is a top bet to strike back.

Best Value Bet – Race 9 No.13 Star Patrol

A very good return fresh after a long layoff and tie-back surgery, beating all but Arkansaw Kid.

He’s a noted improver second-up, and importantly, won this race last year carrying 59kg.

With added fitness now, he looks superb value to go one better this time around.
