Punters head to Caulfield this Saturday with the rail out 12 metres and the track rated Soft.

While there hasn't been a heap of rain, there's also no significant drying weather forecast, so expect the surface to have some give.

Last meeting here, the rail was at 8m and most runners steered away from the hard inside ground.

That pattern could repeat today, so position in run and track scouting will be key.

Race 8 No.4 – Earlswood

Ran a beauty fresh over an unsuitable trip, then jumped straight to 1800m second-up and looked the winner before the in-form, race-fit Saban grabbed him late.

Crucially, he beat the rest home clearly, suggesting he’s back in great order.

Third-up and peaking now.

Around $5 early, he’s very backable.

Best Each-Way

Race 5 No.2 – Euphoric

Has been flying under the radar this prep.

Was the best closer two back at Sandown Hillside when resuming off a five-week freshen, then got no room at a key moment at Flemington before attacking the line strongly against a slow speed.

Carries 61kg here, but that’s relative to the high limit.

Rates highly.
