Caulfield hosts the feature meeting in Melbourne this Saturday with the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes providing an exciting glimpse towards the Spring Carnival.
The meeting is expected to be run on a Soft track, with only light showers forecast and little rain expected to impact conditions.
The rail moves out to 10 metres, after sitting at six metres at the previous meeting where runners hugging the inside rail were disadvantaged.
Leaders also found the headwind difficult to overcome, while those able to build momentum away from the inside enjoyed every opportunity.

David Gately's Melbourne Best Bets – Caulfield 25/7/26
Bet of the Day
Race 4 – #3 Signature Scent
Signature Scent made a terrific return after only an average trial, travelling beautifully throughout before putting her rivals away with authority.
Her previous form reads well, having defeated Thanks Gorgeous second-up as a two-year-old before measuring up against quality fillies including My Gladiola.
Natural improvement second-up makes her the standout bet on the Caulfield program.
Best Value Bet
Race 8 – #6 Stop The Rock
Stop The Rock looks over the odds despite producing two strong runs this preparation.
She scored at big odds second-up before being forced back from a wide draw last start, losing valuable ground mid-race before closing off strongly behind Prince Eric.
A much kinder barrier, senior rider aboard and a race that maps far more favourably make her an excellent value proposition.
