David Gately Horse Racing Tips - Caulfield & Randwick 8/2/25

Punters can expect ideal track conditions for racing this weekend, with Caulfield and Randwick both rated as Good tracks.

At Caulfield, the rail remains True, and while they were well off the inside last meeting due to wet conditions, the dry forecast should see the inside lanes play fair.

Meanwhile, Randwick will also have a True rail position, with warm conditions leading in and only a slight chance of light showers. The track played evenly last time and should do so again.

Caulfield – Race 5 No.1 – My Gladiola

A jumpout star leading into her debut, My Gladiola showed her brilliant turn of foot when winning the Preview in blistering time, against the boys.

She was still green when hitting the front, floating late, which suggests there’s plenty more improvement to come.

If she can produce a similar performance, she looks extremely hard to beat again.

 

Bet of the Day – Sydney

Randwick – Race 1 No.6 – Oh Diamond Lil

She ran into a serious horse in Perfumist last start, with the winner running exceptional time, but Oh Diamond Lil still ran well to hold second comfortably.

Prior to that, she dominated a maiden win in strong fashion, and this race sets up perfectly for her to bounce back into the winner’s circle.

Well-placed to go one better here.
