Punters are looking to sting bookmakers this Saturday with a number of key moves witnessed in early betting.
At Moonee Valley, a Lindsay Smith runner looks to have been primed for a first up kill.
Whilst at Randwick, the John Sargent yard looks to have crafted a well-orchestrated betting plunge, with more money expected late for this runner!

Moonee Valley Tips
Northern Barrage
The Mick Kent stable knows how to prepare a staying horse and this lightly raced 4yo looks a serious project for the yard.
He ran midfield (9 of 16) in the Group 1 SA Derby two starts back to round out his last preparation.
He has since returned well this time in, when running midfield at Sandown over the unsuitable 1600m trip.
He now stretches out to an ideal distance of 2000m and should be much better suited by the extra journey and added fitness following the first up hit-out.
Philosopher
Is searching for the hat-trick here following two provincial wins to kick of this preparation.
He was excellent at Cranbourne last start when pressured throughout, yet still had the toughness to hold on and win.
The recent racing would suggest he is a completely different horse this preparation and finally fulfilling the ultra-high expectations placed on him earlier in his career.
Yellow Sam
One of “Lethal Lindsay’s” favourite set up horses who they got plenty out of earlier in her career with several shrewd placements.
She loves it first-up (4:2-2-0) and should be fully primed to win here, with plenty of work poured into her at home.
They should receive a very economical “suck run’ just in behind the leading pair, and given any luck extricating she will be all over the top of them late.
Fire Glo Too
Was well fancied late in betting ($5.50 into $4.20) last start at Caulfield when he went very close, placing 2 of 10.
The market strongly suggested he was flying last time out and this looks like a similar assignment if not weaker, hence he should be right up to them again.
He has had plenty of recent racing and should be one of the strongest late from a fitness angle.
They will apply pressure from a long way out and have a few of these gasping for air.
Randwick Tips
Straight Charge
Was well supported in betting on debut here in the Breeders Plate over 1000m where only just missed (0.1 lengths) when placing 2 of 11.
He has since been put away and is likely to have been primed for a first-up kill here, to secure the prizemoney required for Golden Slipper entry.
The ownership group is one of the most powerful in Australian racing and the stable will be aware success here will ensure they receive more horses from the influential organisation.
Gai/Bott will be motivated!
Royal Invader
Lightly raced mare who must be going well at home to enter here in Sydney Saturday grade races.
I suspect she has been one of the stable “data stars” over the past weeks and would be lighting up the e-tracker feed transmitted from the saddlecloth microchip.
Being lightly raced (7:1-2-1) she has plenty of upside and we could be nowhere near her ceiling yet.
She could announce herself here with the featherweight (52.5kg).
Stromboli
Stays at the same 1100m distance here at Randwick as the start prior when finished well back (8 of 11) after encountering some traffic issues.
He can be forgiven for the lackluster performance last start and given a clearer passage here, there will be good improvement.
The soft draw (gate 2) is likely to make a significant difference and he can suck up in behind the first pair before darting through late.
Perfect Thought
The stable is flying and very underrated, with John Sargent one of the best horsemen in the business.
The second up stats (3:1-1-0) here say it all and this race would have been the target all along, with the horse primed to perfection.
This is a classic betting sting and for an avalanche of money to arrive again late in betting.
