Betting Tips: Early Market Movers at Flemington and Gold Coast 13/1/24

This week the Magic Millions card provides punters an excellent lead in betting, with plenty of early price moves across a huge day’s racing on the Gold Coast.

Whilst at Flemington the big betting stables appear to have a number of runners set up for a bet and win!

 

 

Flemington Tips

 

Landmark

2YO colt on debut for a shrewd betting stable, who knows how to set one up and get the money.

He would have shown Lloyd and Lucy plenty at home in trackwork and both trainers have indicated to owners they should be having a bet here.

Note he has had no public trial hence they could be going to great lengths to hide him from the market.

If more money arrives close to start time, he should be in the finish.

 

Valois

Cliff Brown is an underrated trainer and looks to have one with above average ability here.

He would now be rock hard fit with 5 runs this preparation, and the rider should be looking to apply pressure from a long way out.

He can use his fitness edge to grind these all into the ground!

 

Ring Bearer

Last start winner for the gun Ciaron Maher stable at Warrnambool, when not expected to do so.

He should still have improvement to come and the early money is an excellent indicator.

The high-profile ownership group expect results and the trainer will be keen to impress and attract more horses from this powerful industry player.

From a low draw (gate 4) they will ride close to speed again and if they find the lead, he should be very hard run down

 

Fire Of Etna

The stable are simply flying and looking for back-to-back wins with this mare, who overcame a torrid run (4 wide) last start to still get up and win.

The last start effort would suggest the step up in distance here to 1600m will be perfect, and given a more economical run his finish should be even more dynamic here.

The rider should position just in behind the first pair, and with a true tempo is likely to be steaming over the top of them inside the final 200m.

 

Gold Coast Tips

 

Steady Ready

Went very close to beating the favourite in this race (Rothfire) last start at Toowoomba when jumped awkwardly and possibly should have won.

He looks like a great bet here against a favourite who is high-profile and likely to be over-bet due to his popularity with punters.

Importantly he is also 1 win from 1 start at this track, hence clearly handles the tight-turning Gold Coast circuit.

 

Zennzella

Was well backed ($3.00 into $2.50) late at Caulfield last start before winning well over 1700m.

She ran on well last time out when very strong to the line and running well through it, after getting back in the field.

The step up to 2200m here looks ideal and she could jump out of the ground, over what is likely to be her preferred journey.

 

Revolutionary Miss

Team Snowden runner who has won his past two starts and goes in search of the hat-trick of wins here.

They have booked J Mac which is a usually a positive sign, as he would have had the pick of this field being the leading rider.

This field appears to lack depth and from the mid-draw (gate 10) the rider can position in an ideal position midfield with cover, before coming home over the top of them all late.

 

Lady Laguna

Has a touch of quality and has raced against much stronger quality than these over her career.

She won well at Doomben last start when not all went to plan and she had to overcome difficulty throughout, which showed her class.

They will press forward from the wide draw (gate 12) and lead or race outside the lead.

From their J Mac can hit the go button as he pleases and give a healthy kick off the front.
