South Australian racing makes its welcome return to Morphettville this Saturday, with the main track rated a Soft 6 and further showers predicted.

That could see conditions deteriorate into the Soft 7 or Heavy 8 range by race time.

The Autumn Belle looks superbly placed to strike again after a narrow but high-quality win at Sandown last start.

That performance was stronger than it appeared on paper, coming off a hot mid-race tempo and surging home at +1.8L above the class average.

She now drops in grade, draws to settle just behind the speed, and is proven over 2000m.

With race shape, fitness, and bias likely to favour off-speed runners, she stands out as the best of the day at $3.80 or better.

 

Race 3 #8 Tropical House $10.00

Tropical House brings the right form and profile to feature in this 3YO contest.

She was nosed out at Murray Bridge last start in fast time, running exceptional late splits and two starts back won dominantly here at 1533m.

She meets some progressive types, but she’s fitter, maps ideally just off the speed, and the sting out of the ground won’t hurt. A

t double figures, she’s a terrific each-way chance.

 

Race 4 #1 Bancoora $7.50

Bancoora was too good to ignore last time when bolting in by 4L after missing the start.

The blinkers going on looked like a key gear change.

His run prior also had plenty of merit, stuck wide throughout and still finishing close-up.

This race sets up perfectly again with good early tempo and a vulnerable short-priced favourite in From The Block.
