Race 1 – #6 Farfetched

Farfetched looks well over the odds in what shapes as a race between himself and the favourite, Crossways.

His first-up effort was full of merit after racing back towards the inside on inferior ground, where he was doing his best work through the line late.

From a favourable draw, he should enjoy the perfect run by following Crossways into the race, giving him every opportunity to strike in the straight.

Importantly, Farfetched defeated Crossways on debut, so while the favourite is entitled to improve second-up, Gannon believes the gap between their market prices is simply too great.

With little separating the pair on exposed form, he's happy to side with the value.

Race 2 – #8 Helldeeva

Helldeeva couldn't have been more impressive when resuming, producing a dominant first-up victory over the talented Krasina, who has since franked the form by winning at her next start.

She relished the rain-affected conditions on that occasion and attacked the line strongly, suggesting there was plenty left in the tank.

The rise to 1200 metres looks another positive and, with the stable renowned for improving its horses second-up, Gannon expects further improvement.

If she takes the natural step forward from her first-up performance, Helldeeva looks capable of going to another level and making it back-to-back wins.
