Daniel Pryor Saturday Horse Racing Tips 4/7/26

After a short break following the conclusion of the Queensland Winter Carnival, I'm back on board to kick off July with my focus firmly on Winter Finals Day at Flemington.

The final month of Queensland Group 1 racing produced some terrific results, highlighted by the Stradbroke Handicap, JJ Atkins and Tattersall's Tiara, capping off another outstanding winter carnival.

From this weekend onwards, my attention shifts almost exclusively to the Victorian and New South Wales metropolitan meetings as we build towards the Spring Carnival.

Winter racing often uncovers horses that can progress through the grades quickly, and Flemington's Winter Finals Day has a long history of producing runners that go on to make their mark later in the year.

There are always a few value opportunities on this program and I'll be keeping a close eye on several horses that look capable of carrying their form into the spring.

Race 2

No.2 Marwooba ($3.50)

Marwooba was impressive breaking through at Rosehill last start and did it with plenty in hand.

The Hawkes stable has an excellent record when travelling horses to Melbourne and this colt looks capable of taking the next step.

He deserves his place near the top of betting and looks one of the stronger chances on the program.

Race 6

No.1 Bold Soul ($7.50)

Bold Soul returns to a race where he finished runner-up twelve months ago and looks ready to improve into peak fitness.

His recent runs suggest he's building nicely towards a big performance and the stable has been producing plenty of winners in recent weeks.

At the current price, he appeals as one of the better value plays of the meeting.

Race 8

No.2 Wise Inlaw ($6.00)

Wise Inlaw maps to enjoy the perfect run from an inside barrier and should be able to settle right on the speed throughout.

His latest effort was full of merit and a repeat of that performance would make him extremely hard to hold out.

Around the $6 mark, he represents excellent betting value.
