This week we focus on the significant early betting action at both key venues, where the opening price moves have the ability to provide us with some dynamic betting leads.

At Sandown, Ciaron Maher has a key runner for a valued owner which fits our popular motivational alignment theory.

Whilst at Randwick a QLD raider is creating plenty of interest amongst punters, who have snapped up the opening price, with more investment expected!

These price movements represent signals typically assosiated with sophisticated betting behaviour, and it will pay to closely monitor each runner as we approach the jump.

Sandwon Tips

Vallice

The stable think very highly of this one and would be relishing the opportunity here to impress influential owner Noel Greenhalgh.

He was excellent winning two starts back on the Lakeside track when shot up the rail to attack the line with vigour, at only his second career start!

Since then the last start first-up effort at Caulfield showed he is right on track for a big preparation this time in when he charged home from well off them, where simply got too far back and set an impossible task. He is likely to be the big improver here.

Cruiserweight

Simply blew them all away first and second-up this preparation then had genuine excuses last time out when finishing 4 of 11 at Caulfield where raced keenly and was exposed far too early.

Given a more charmed run here where they can find some cover and conserve energy I expect he will be back to his dynamic best.

The booking of Mark Zahra should also be a positive as he has more strength than Craig Williams and can stand over him with more vigour over the concluding stages.

Mull Of Kintyre

Interesting move in betting for this Moody/Coleman runner who is one of 2 the stable have entered in the race with the other also showing enough to be considered.

They must clearly think more highly of this one than the other which in itself is an excellent guide.

The booking of Jamie Melham screams yes and from gate 1 the horse has the superior tactical speed to position where they choose.

Gold Coast Belle

Danny O’Brien knows when to tell his owners to back one! Which looks to be the case here for a first-up crush.

This mare won 4 for 5 starts last preparation in a complete domination where she proved herself to having genuine Stakes level potential in time.

This could be the preparation where they are aiming up at some lofty Spring targets and if she is up to that, she should certainly be winning this race on the way through.

Randwick Tips

Le Troisir

A huge industry combination is represented with this horse including a powerful ownership group, the leading trainer and worlds best rider! Which is typically a recipe for success.

The stable will be keen to achieve a result for the owners as they have the potential to offer more quality stock for them to train in future seasons.

Whilst I’m also sure J Mac will be looked after with a decent sling if he can throw this one across the line. The motivational alignment with this one does not get much higher!

King Of The Sea

Ciaron Maher import who is on a Spring riches program and must be training the house down to warrant the strong support first-up in this.

He has now had a number of Australian “sighter” runs where the Tazima form out of his most recent effort comes up as very strong.

I expect Maher has him very forward here to make an impression that he can have success with these high-priced overseas acquisitions. Yes.

Midnight In Tokyo

Interesting runner who is attempting to raid the Sydney riches and travels down from Queensland with the Queensland based rider Ben Thompson also in tow.

The horse must be flying for them to contemplate the arduous travel and logistic when there are plenty of suitable races for the horse at home.

Watch betting very late and if the price stays firm or there is a further mover lower, bet with confidence!

Call Me Gorgeous

The David Pfieffer stable are simply lethal when they bet and know how to set one up for a decent go.

Whilst this horse is now well exposed to the market on recent form, they still appear very keen to bet up at the initial price offered and must have him going well at home.

He should take good fitness from the first-up Randwick run where finished a close up (1.4 lengths) 4 of 10, and he could be ready to peak here second-up.
