Betting Tips: Early Market Movers at Randwick & Caulfield 8/8/26

This week we have both major venues covered, with a select group of runners attracting significant early support off their opening prices.

At Caulfield Heath, the in-form Bennett Racing team have one arriving rock-hard fit after an impressive last-start win, while a key rider change has caught the attention of punters elsewhere on the card.

Meanwhile at Randwick, a talented two-year-old returns as a three-year-old boasting some serious Tempted form, which looks particularly strong for an off-season Winter race.

 

 

 

Stay Silent

Bennett Racing are absolutely flying and come into the weekend fresh off their Darwin Cup success earlier in the week.

Stay Silent ploughed through the Heavy conditions at Sandown last start, taking control in front before simply running his rivals into the ground.

He may not get the same testing conditions here, but he arrives rock-hard fit and has proven effective across different surfaces. If he finds the front without spending too much early, it will take a good one to run him down.

 

Along The River

Absolutely loves this track and trip, boasting an outstanding record of two wins and a second from three attempts.

His latest third at Flemington in Benchmark 78 company was full of merit behind a couple of smart horses, and that form should stack up nicely here.

The small field looks ideal for his racing pattern, allowing him to settle behind the speed before peeling into clear air and launching late. Yes.

 

Taka Speed

Underrated galloper who has promised plenty throughout his career and has already contested much deeper races than what he faces here.

He was excellent at Sandown last start when placing second despite suffering interference at a crucial stage, and you could make a strong case that he should have won with a cleaner passage.

The significant upgrade to Blake Shinn is another major positive. Given even luck this time, he looks one of the big improvers of the day.

 

Elouyou

Scott Cameron knows how to set one up for a bet and the market move around this runner creates plenty of interest.

Elouyou was sent north last start to tackle stronger Benchmark 88 company at Rosehill and performed extremely well, finishing second in a field of 12.

He now returns to Melbourne for an easier assignment with Damien Lane booked, which is a significant lead. On his Sydney performance, he looks to hold a class edge over plenty of these.

 

 

Bangkok Hottie

The South African combination of David Payne and Chad Schofield link up here with a talented filly who brings some serious form into her three-year-old season.

She was last seen racing against Tempted as a two-year-old, and that form looks extremely strong for an off-season race of this quality.

She has clearly required some time away from the track, but the fact Payne is prepared to resume her at Randwick suggests she is forward enough to perform. If she has returned anywhere near her best, she should take plenty of beating.

 

Avista

The James McDonald booking for a Chris Waller runner owned by powerhouse Arrowfield is an immediate attention-grabber.

She arrives chasing four consecutive wins and a hat-trick this preparation after continuing to progress through the grades.

Her recent victories have come outside metropolitan company, but the stable clearly believes she is ready for the jump to Saturday grade. With J Mac taking the ride, the market confidence looks significant.

 

Midnight Dynamite

One of the form horses of the preparation, having won four of his past six starts including a dominant victory at Rosehill last time out by almost three lengths.

He is now rock-hard fit and the drop from 1500m back to 1200m should ensure he has plenty of strength in his legs when the pressure goes on.

Barrier four gives Kerrin McEvoy the opportunity to be positive and settle much closer to the speed. From there, he should be extremely hard to shake late.

 

Rose Aye

Matthew Dale is an excellent horseman who knows exactly which horses are capable of making the trip to Sydney and competing in Saturday company.

Rose Aye produced a demolition job at Rosehill two starts back, leading throughout before putting more than seven lengths on her opposition.

The stable are prepared to send her back to town again, which suggests she continues to thrive at home. If the money arrives again late, take notice.
