The Autumn Stakes signals the return of many high profile 3yo's, who are on the path to richer Autumn Carnival targets and looking to impress early in the campaign.
I believe a gun Sydney horse has the edge here and with the advantage of having one run under the belt, he should be far too classy and fit for this field.
The Melbourne brigade do create interest, given their key chances have performed well in the off-season and will also hold some residual fitness.

Dealmaker has been singled out for specific attention by punters in early betting, firming from an opening quote of $5.50 into $5.00.
All other runners remain steady.

#1 Ringerdingding $4.80
A former Weir runner who has been transferred to the Waller stable.
He showed plenty last prep when winning twice in stakes grade and strikes a hot race here.
Although he's won first-up in the past, I expect he will need the run.
A few of the classier types entered appear to have his measure. No.
#2 Aramayo $8.50
Is very classy and came through all the big 3yo features earlier this season.
Although this appears to be well short of his best distance, he has the quality to still be competitive.
It appears they have overcome the hoof issues (synthetic filler) and the current $8.50 in betting looks value. Yes.
#3 Good 'N' Fast $13
Ran a handy 4 of 13 in the Caulfield Guineas this season, however the Sydney brigade look to have him covered on this occasion.
He failed in the Sandown Guineas at his latest, and that form looks inferior when lined up against those travelling south.
Can't get warm about his chances and looks an excellent risk at the current $13. No
#4 Social Spin $3.60
Is rock hard fit and most importantly in form.
The market has loved him the whole way through this prep and his SP profile is second to none, where the smart money has been spot on.
Whilst the wins have been in lesser grade and mainly in off-season racing, he is right up to this grade and could surprise a few here.
Fitness is a massive advantage in these early season events and he must be considered a leading hope.
#5 Dealmaker $5.50 > $5.00
Is as tough as teak and clearly should have won first-up in Sydney two weeks back.
He got well back on that occasion before storming late to just miss at Randwick.
The professional money has already arrived for him in early markets and he could start even shorter than the current $5.00.
Looks a great bet to my eye and must go on top.
#6 Declares War $9
Has residual fitness and arrives here after an 8 week freshen.
He has won his past 3, being well backed at each start and coming with a dynamic run on each occasion.
Damien Lane will be forced to negotiate a tricky draw in gate 8, however his natural pattern is to go back in any case, therefore the alley can be overcome.
It will be fascinating to see if he is up to these top-liners and it would be a brave punter to suggest he's not. Can win.
#7 Hawkshot $12
Appears severely outclassed in this, going off recent efforts in lowly benchmark grade.
He will get well back and find plenty of these far too sharp. Avoid.
#8 Secret Blaze $15
Is not the worst here and did place 3 of 14 in the Carbine Club Stakes two starts back.
That form is good enough to be competitive in this and the first-up stats are sound enough (3:0-2-0).
He looks the best at odds. Yes.
Of The Others
#11 More Sundays drops way down in weight from his most recent outing at Sandown, when he finished 5 of 8 (beaten 2.1 lengths).
The stable have a huge opinion of him and a close watch of betting is advised to give further confidence. The market will tell us.
