Doomben Race 8 Tip #3 Roman Aureus $3.60

This gelding is a progressive type with a big finish and is back at the same track and distance he won at two starts back.

At his most recent outing, he was forced wide on the unsuitable Ipswich circuit when coming into the turn and got into his work late to finish a length third to the smart Stuttering.

In his win here the start prior, he put pay to Reus who went on to win the Grafton Guineas next start. The two rivals meet again here and there's no reason why Roman Aureaus can't repeat the dose.

Larry Cassidy will most likely sit off the speed again, and you can expect him to find a nice spot in the run from barrier 4.

The experienced hoop should be able to pull him out to the middle of the straight and produce his thundering finish over the top of them.

Bendigo Race 2 Tip #7 Miracle Day $11.00 each-way

This gelding ran well on debut at Geelong, finishing second to Supreme Idea who was a subsequent winner in Listed grade.

The second start was then a complete forget run, as he put on a rodeo show in the early stages.

He resumed this preparation at Cranbourne and made good ground late to finish fourth behind a few handy types.

He looks well suited with the rise in distance for this clash and can give this a real shake in attempt to break his maiden status.

Looks a good bet at each way odds.

Belmont Race 6 Tip #12 Pletto $2.20

This consistent mare has never missed the money in her six career runs and she appears to be very well placed here second-up.

Leading into her first-up assignment, she ran home stoutly in a very strong trial behind impressive next start winner Great Heist and multiple stakes winning mare Misty Metal.

First-up at Belmont she was forced to sit three wide with no cover from the horror draw, but still had the audacity to kick on strongly for third after being set a difficult task.

Put A Spell On You finished behind Pletto in that event after enduring a similar run in transit and subsequently won stylishly in Saturday grade.

Pletto would have derived plenty of benefit from that first-up run off a long layoff, and today she drops to the minimum weight and is likely to be ridden positively by new jockey William Pike.

She should stalk the leaders throughout and from there, prove extremely hard to hold out.

'The Wizard' looks set to add yet another victory to his Australian record haul, before the 2019-2020 season closes later this week.
