Country horse racing in NSW takes place at Moree on Monday,  where we have a strong seven-race card to dissect.

The track is currently rated a Good 4 and sunshine is forecast for the northern NSW region.

The rail is in the true position and at this set up, I expect on-pace to be an advantage.

From the stewards

The runner which stands out from the steward's report is Swoop in race 7.

The Unencumbered gelding finished his last preparation poorly at Inverell, finishing at the rear of the ten horse field.

A post-race vet examination revealed he was lame in the off hind leg, which explained the poor showing.

Since that run, the Peter Sinclair trained gelding was spelled and has received a vet certificate to race again.

Although his first-up stats are poor, the runs have been against better opposition and on unsuitable ground.

From the inside draw here, expect a much more forward showing and a return to his best form.

Jockey to follow

Brooke Stower has impressive stats at Moree.

Stower has had 41 rides here in the past 12 months, winning 16 at a strike rate of 39%.

The jockey has a full book of rides today, with her best chance coming in race 4 on Liberty Head.

I've identified 3-races on today's card that represent good betting opportunities.

Below is my best bet and quaddie numbers. For my full tip package and runner comments, click here.

Moree Race 6 Tip #8 Dubai Tycoon $2.90

The Written Tycoon gelding has been sent north from his Scone base, with trainer Brent Cavanough aiming to take out the Curlewis Cup here.

He's coming off a deep Class 3 at Scone last start, where he finished off solidly in fourth.

Before that effort, his previous three runs were in the city where he was far from disgraced.

Now third-up, he's reached peak fitness and is well suited on the 10-day back up. The booking of gun jockey Ben Looker is a good push for this galloper, who has a proven record over the 1400m (7:2-1-2).

There looks to be plenty of early speed engaged so from barrier 9, expect Looker to slot in midfield with cover. Providing there is no serious bias, he can show his class by running over the top of these late.

Moree Quaddie Numbers

Race 4: 2, 3, 5, 6, 7

Race 5: 3, 4, 5, 6

Race 6: 1, 7, 8, 10, 11

Race 7: 2, 4, 5, 8, 9
