Below are Michael's 3 best bets for Saturday night's Albion Park meeting.

 

Albion Park Race 3 Tip #1Christian Major $8.50

I am giving CHRISTIAN MAJOR (10) a good chance here. He has run some very good races in NSW and I think he will do a good job in QLD. 

This race is winnable as the likely leader Corey William, is a bit suspect at the 2138m. I have him marked $3.60 and you can do a lot better than that.

JOHNNY WHITE (1) was good winning last week with a good trip. He maps to get a nice run again and should get every chance. He's the hardest to beat, but I have him marked $2.60 and he's currently unders at $2.30. 

COREY WILLIAM (2) is well found tonight but the 2138m is a big query. I think he has to be left alone to get the job done and therefore I have him marked $8. Think he’s a risk.

 

 

Albion Park Race 4 Tip #8 Oyster Stride $3.80

Looks a fence race this one and if OYSTER STRIDE (8) can muster early and hold the back of the likely leader in ULTIMATE AD (1), I give him a very good chance of running him down.

Horse is flying and seems to go very well for the driver. There is too much between the prices of these two runners in early markets for mine and I am happy to be on OYSTER STRIDE (8) with the good map. I have him marked $2.50 and he is an easy bet.

Can't fault ULTIMATE AD (1) of late. He is going very well, looks the leader and is the one to beat but he is very skinny on early markets. I have him marked $1.80 and would need around even money to contemplate about being on him. Not potting the horse at all, just potting the price in a genuine two horse race.

 

Albion Park Race 5 Tip #2 Spring Campaign $1.80

SPRING CAMPAIGN (2) has really found some form. He can find the fence here and from the front end will be very hard to beat. A slight concern is PACIFIC DRUMS (6) out in gate six who can really run the gate and could turn the map bad for SPRING CAMPAIGN (2).

SPRING CAMPAIGN (2) doesn’t have to lead to win though so he goes on top. I have him marked $2.10 and there has been early money for him so he will need to drift to be a bet but he is clearly on top.

HEART OF COOPER (5) was good last time and if there is some good pressure early this one can get them late. Looks nice overs in early markets, I have him marked $4 and I think we will do much better than that.

Menangle Race 2 Tip #2 Spare Me Days $2.40

I am putting my faith in Spare Me Days (2) again here.

The gelding has drawn poorly his past two runs, making it almost impossible for him to get into the race.

Before this he galloped two weeks in a row, so there are plenty of forgives in his recent form.

A friendly draw here, and the longer distance of 2300m should suit him perfectly and he will be hard to hold out. 

 

Menangle Race 3 Tip #2 Deecaesar $15.00

Deecaesar (2) is worth an each-way bet at double figure odds.

The Goulburn-trained pacer resumes tonight after a four-month layoff. He has trialled impressively and his form earlier in the season was quite strong.

There looks to be a fair bit of tempo in this race, which may provide Deecaesar the chance to take advantage and finish over the top of his rivals.

 

Newcastle Race 1 Tip #10 Whosaginger $TBC

Whosaginger (10) looks to be the class runner in the first race on the card.

While the seven-year-old has not won for nearly a year, he brings the strongest form into what is a very plain affair.

Drawn behind a fast beginner and possibly the biggest danger in Advanced Warfare (2), driver Breanna Lindsay should be able to secure a nice run in transit and be within striking distance in the final stages.
