6/06/21 Horse Racing Tips for Hong Kong Racing

We are back at Sha Tin on Sunday for an intriguing race card. Two of the races on the 10 race program will be run over the 1650m course on the all weather track, while the rest of the card will be contested on the turf “C” track.

Weather is expected to be fine on Sunday afternoon in Hong Kong, with the ground looking to settle in the good to firm range

The feature race of the day comes in the last, a Class 2 event over the 1600m course. The two highest-rated horses in this field are Tourbillon Diamond and Savaquin, both of whom have good recent form.

Perfect Maryknoll (formerly known as Vamos Raffa) will start his Hong Kong racing career in Race 9. This gelding finished first in the 2020 Tasmania Derby, however was later disqualified after failing a blood test.

 

 

Sha Tin Race 3 #2 Brilliant Fortune $2.45

Brilliant Fortune has his Hong Kong debut in March, and retains his maiden status for this race despite some good form in the lead-up.

This horse comes back to the Sha Tin 1000m course here in a field of nine runners who don't pose strong opposition.

In his two starts over the Sha Tin straight course, he was beaten by Valiant Dream and Winner Method respectively.

Last time out, this 4YO moved to the Happy Valley 1000m, and despite racing wide without cover in the run, he still ran a commendable fourth.

Recent gallops have shown improvement. The horse is now fit and with Joao Moreira on board again, there is a strong chance he will break his maiden in this race.

 

Sha Tin Race 9 #13 Leap Of Faith $6

The well-bred Leap Of Faith is sired by Sebring, out of a G1 winning mare Steps In Time. Despite his strong blood-lines, he experienced some setbacks at the beginning of his career.

Recently he returned after a 5-month spell with notable improvement and consistency.

Last time out, he finished with a solid second behind the in-form The Hulk under Alexis Badel.

Before this race, Joao Moreira galloped this horse three times in trackwork and reports indicate he is progressing well.

Joao takes the ride this time and he jumps from gate 12 which will suit his preference to race wide.  Expect him to bounce back here and win again.
