We're heading to northern NSW on Monday afternoon to the country town of Taree.

This looks like a very competitive card, with a few best bets and plenty of value up for grabs.

The track is currently rated a Soft 7 and the rail is situated in the true position for the entire circuit.

With fine weather forecast, punters should expect fair racing surface.

I'm confident we'll come out with a positive result today and I've managed to find 7 plays across the day.

Check out my two free horse racing tips below and you can back the remainder of my tips via HOT Bet here.

Taree Race 1 Tip #7 Madakari $31.00 each-way

You don't have to be a genius to work out this is a wide open 2YO handicap to kick off the day.

The Terry Evans trained Madakari was unwanted in betting on debut, before being restrained to last from the wide gate.

His last 300m was strong enough to suggest he'll relish the 1250m and from the better draw today, he can sit much closer in the run.

He's no superstar, but this looks like an average field so I'm happy to have a throw at the stumps given the natural progression he'll take from that run.

The $31 looks value and it wouldn't surprise if he drifts even further, as the money comes for the more fancied stables.

He jumped well last start, but was never going forward in that race. Today from barrier 5, he can sit two or three pairs back in the run and it wouldn't surprise to see him there when the whips are cracking.

Looks a great 1x4 bet.

Taree Race 2 Tip #7 Brendan's Hope $14.10 each-way

Another value runner for us to back on an each-way basis. This time 2x3.

He was solid enough last time out after sitting at the rear of the field, before running on late in the piece to finish 3.5 lengths 6th.

The runner-up from that race, Sir Brawn, has since franked that form-line with a win.

This is a pretty even race and I think this guy can improve now that he gets off the very Heavy tracks.

Rachel Murray retains the ride and I'm hoping she shows serious intent from the gates today. If she does, this guy will be poised to strike on the turn and could well cause an upset.
