Race 1: #3 Valaquenta (10 units) and #11 Island Joy (15 units)

A cracking way to start the day for Deane and his followers, with the James Cummings-trained Valaquenta proving too strong for them.

The up-and-coming colt paid a juicy $6.20 on the tote.

 

Race 3: #3 Dubai Dominion (10 units) and #6 Ruban Bleu (10 units)

Deane went back-to-back here, with Ruban Bleu finishing the race off in style.

The Hayes and Dabernig runner paid a handy $5.40.

 

Race 4: #4 Right You Are (25 units - Best Bet)

Deane suggested that punters ramp the stake right up for Right You Are, his best of the day.

And boy did it pay off, with the son of So You Think showing his class.

The market got it spot-on, with Right You are starting the $2.60 favourite.

 

Race 7: #6 Sikorsky (20 units)

It looked like Deane was going to repeat the dose, with another favourite set to salute here.

Sikorksy was backed off the map, but just got pipped by All To Huiying in the final few strides.

 

Race 8: #1 Heptagon (10 units)

But punters soon forgot all about what happened in Race 7.

That's because Deane steered them into Heptagon, that booted away from them at the top of the Caulfield straight.

And considering that it started at 10/1 odds, this was Deane's best tip of the day in our books. 

 

Race 9: #2 Carzoff (15 units) and #8 Mahamedies (10 units) 

But he wasn't done yet.

In the final race on the card, Deane tipped Mahamedies, who continued his strong form of late with a nice win.

The runner from the Nick Ryan yard paid a solid $4.70, rounding out the day nicely for Deane's fans and followers.
