Despite the rare slip up, he still managed to steer punters clear of a hot favourite that got done.

His first lay was Nature Strip on Friday night at the Valley.

Off the back of a shocking performance where he over-raced, Beeson wanted no piece of Nature Strip in the Group One Moir Stakes.

He foresaw Ball Of Muscle taking the lead, causing Nature Strip to over-race again.

But to the joy of punters who stuck with this fav, he burned them from the barriers and just had enough in the tank to hold on for the win.

 

Beeson's second lay was Enticing Star in Rosehill Race 5 on Saturday.

Beeson was right on the money here.

The speed map suggested that Enticing Star would get back in the run, while the likes of Mizzy and Fundamentalist would enjoy a soft lead up front.

With the Rosehill track favouring leaders of late, Enticing Star faced a tough prospect to get over them late. 

In the end she only battled to 5th, while Mizzy kicked away for a strong win.

He couldn't quite get the job done first-up, finishing 6th.

Rosehill Race 9: #11 Amangiri

Amangiri was another first-up runner, and coming into the home straight, she was looking the goods.

However, she didn't quite have the turn of foot needed to finish it off.

Amangiri finished 4th.

Rosehill Race 8: #2 Shadow Hero

Buckland was left impressed with Shadow Hero's first up run that saw him rattle home into 3rd.

Second up here and stepping up in distance, Buckland thought that the race would suit Shadow Hero down to the ground.

He carved his way through the field and let down with a dominant run, winning by more than three lengths.

He paid $3.10 on the tote, but if you got on when the tips were released, you could've enjoyed as much as $4.20 odds.
