Feature Saturday racing in Victoria remains at Flemington this week after an excellent Andrew Ramsden Race Day last Saturday, where Lunar Flare booked her ticket into the Melbourne Cup with a dominant victory.

While there is no black type racing this Saturday, there are some very competitive fields and great value on offer for punters.

The feature race of the nine-race program is the Vja Winter Championship Trophy, a Benchmark-100 in race 8 over 1600m.

After a dominant victory last start at Sandown, the Enver Jusufovic trained Pinstriped is currently the $3.30 favourite ahead of last start runner-up, Keats, at $4.60.

The track is currently rated a Good 4 but with showers forecast for the remainder of the week, expect them to race on a Soft 5-6.

The running rail is out 5m the entire circuit, which should result in a fair track with runners on-pace from inside to middle barriers holding a slight advantage.

Good value on offer this week, sink into them!

Flemington Race 7 #13 Boonie $6.50

There is plenty of hope that this former UK sprinter can be as good as his namesake was on the cricket field.

It looks a race in two here, and this 4yo Brazen Beau gelding looks to be a better betting proposition than race favourite Renuso.

He goes well fresh (2 wins from 2 runs) and draws well in barrier 2, where he'll be able to follow the leading contingents into the race.

Leading into this, he's had a quiet jump out at this track and an impressive trial win at Tatura. He looks to be a smooth mover who will greatly appreciate running up the Flemington straight.

The stable is in top form (6 winners from their last 12 runners) and can continue that with this exciting 4YO on his Australian debut here.

Flemington Race 8 #6 Keats $3.80

After narrowly falling to defeat last start at Sandown to the handy Gunstock, this 6YO Galileo gelding looks set to bounce back to winning ways here.

He will get an extremely soft run in the lead from barrier 2 and with front-running master Blake Shinn aboard, he will prove tough to run down.

He had excellent form prior to his run in the All-Star Mile, with a third behind Steinem at Group 2 level and a fourth behind Pounding in a Group 3.

While he's yet to run a place at Headquarters from 3 attempts, his only start for trainer Gavin Bedggood resulted in a fourth on a Heavy 10 track.

He has race fitness on his side and will prove very tough to run down.
