This gelding from the astute David Vandyke stable hasn't quite hit his straps this preparation, however he looks set to peak today.

His impressive career record of 6 wins suggests he's a genuine race horse (21: 6-3-1) and he's proven at the distance with 2 wins.

He had excuses last start after doing far too much work throughout, but looks set for a much easier run out in front today.

The 3kg claim for apprentice Kate Cowan brings him right into calculations. 

From barrier 5, look for Cowan to control the race in front, dictating to her rivals.

Now third-up, Cloak is reaching peak fitness and is ready to put another win on the board.

Sandown Race 4 Tip #3 Grand Promenade $2.40

Promising stayer who is ready to win after two solid runs since a spell.

He was just worried out of it in the closing stages last start at Caulfield over 2000m, where he sat wide and was also left in front early in the straight.

He'll relish the step up to 2400m and the wide open expanses of Sandown Hillside will suit him perfectly.

This mare looks extremely well placed to finally knock off her maiden.

She resumed with a 2nd at Werribee, when only beaten by Our Lone Star. That horse franked the form-line by winning a nice race at Flemington.

They put a big gap on the 3rd horse there and no doubt she'll improve fitness wise and she will appreciate the step up in distance today.

Eagle Farm Race 5 Tip #3 Guntantes $3.90

On the quick back-up after running home down the outside last start over 1350m.

He was beaten 4.65 lengths by Stradbroke bound Skins, in a run that was full of merit.

On that occasion, he wasn't the best away and was forced to find cover worse than midfield, before being revved up by Fradd to peel the widest on the turn. 

He hung out a touch, but found the line well considering the circumstances.

He produced a similar run the start before at the track and distance, winding up from the tail.

From barrier 1 today, Fradd can click him up from the gates and sit in more prominent position.

He's been screaming out for the mile and can improve on his already impressive record over 1600m (4:3-0-0).

Ascot Race 1 Tip #2 Acromantula $2.25

Acromantula has had an impressive start to his career, with 2 wins from 3 starts and excuses in his one blemish in a Listed race. 

He won a race under the same conditions first-up and does have to contend with a 2kg weight swing on Vadette De Star for just under a length victory.

From Barrier 2, expect him to cross Critical Altitude and Joey should be able to lead as he likes. 

The rest of the field will have to chase this bold front running gelding and hopefully they can't catch him.
