Punters are out in force early this week, plundering early prices across both the Moonee Valley and Randwick cards.
At the Valley, a 2YO looks primed and the stable will be highly motivated to impress the Godolphin ownership group.
Whilst at Randwick, another “Blue Jacket” drops down in grade to a weaker race and has the services of gun rider J Mac.
Moonee Valley Tips
Frost Flowers
Is dripping in class after contesting some high quality 2YO races last prep, where she was competitive in all.
She'll be primed for this first-up assignment and has the advantage of Matthew Cartwright's 2kg claim.
The Freedman stable will be keen to impress Godolphin’s leadership group, after being entrusted with the filly.
No Effort
Is shooting for the hat-trick after winning his past two, where last start he simply brained them all at Caulfield by 3 lengths when kicking hard off the front.
He drops back to 1600m for this after running out a strong 2000m last time out, and should no doubt be one of the strongest late.
Just needs to maintain some sharpness to be winning this.
White Hibiscus
Came from well back at Sandown last start over 1600m, in a good effort to place 3 of 13.
Craig Williams stays aboard which is a massive tick and you can expect here to be rock hard fit now third-up.
The Danny O’Brien yard usually start to hit form about now, and it could pay to start jumping on-board
Namakwa
Has been racing well all preparation with 2 wins from his past 3 starts, and strikes another winnable race here.
He loves to ride the speed and should settle in the first few before giving a good kick late.
First try at Moonee Valley is some query, however he'll have every possible chance from the good draw in gate 3.
Randwick Tips
Super Effort
Is from the shrewd Gerald Ryan yard, who know the right horses to place in Sydney Saturday metro grade.
He was good here last start (2 of 10) over 1200m, when strong through the line and should relish the step up to 1300m in this.
There were excuses last start when he was blocked at the 200m mark, and with more luck here expect him to go very close.
Savy Legend
Sat outside the leader throughout here last start over 2000m, in what appeared a very tough effort to still hang on to place 2 of 9.
He looks to have plenty of stamina and now back to 1800m here, he will be ultra-strong late.
Expect him to take control on speed and grind this field into the ground.
Miss Dior
Did enough here at Randwick first-up, when she kept chasing over the 1000m scamper to place 2 of 8.
She'll take good improvement from the first-up effort and can be even stronger here late.
Rachel King has plenty of options from gate 3 and may opt to race just in behind the leading pair.
Kordia
Godolphin have hit hot form in Sydney and particularly at Randwick, with their system clearly working well.
This runner drops back in grade to Benchmark 78 level, and can take advantage in a race that does lack depth.
With J Mac reuniting with the boys in blue, expect he is winning.
