There will be a 9 race card on the all dirt Sha Tin track on Wednesday night in Hong Kong, .

It is the second all weather night meeting for this season, and the track typically plays fair but front-runners have been holding a slight advantage at recent meetings.

Joao Moreira has been on fire recently and he is leading the jockey rank with 105 winners. His 9 mounts for this meeting all have a winning chance and I expect him to have a good night.

Sha Tin Race 5 Tip #10 El Valiente $3.00

Based on El Valiente's six starts in Hong Kong to date, we can conclude that he suits the all weather track more than the turf.

Last time out, he raced over 1800m on this surface and they opted to lead. This was a surprising change of tactics, however he managed to battle on until the end and to finish third.

It was a very impressive effort, considering his pedigree shows that he is more suitable to a mile.

He drops back to 1650m for this clash, where he should be even stronger.

He has a strong chance at the rating of 43 and with Joao Moreira on board, it is time for him to breakthrough for his maiden victory.

Sha Tin Race 9 #8 Hongkong Great $3.00

As a three-time Group 1 winner in Chile, Hongkong Great scored his first win in Hong Kong over this course and distance on January 17.

Since that performance, he's been very consistent and continues to gain fitness and strength.

Two starts back, he stretched out to 1800m but faded late into third which was forgivable since the distance is too long for him.

Last time out, he returned back to his best distance of 1650m under Zac Purton and won comfortably by 2 lengths. He recorded good sectionals in that clash as well as a good finishing time (1:36.87).

Vincent Ho takes the ride tonight after he had an excellent gallop with the horse last Thursday.

He will be up in Class 2 for this clash, but I expect him to handle it well.
