Best bets from Michael Gannon

The Saturday racing spotlight returns to the city in NSW this weekend, as Rosehill Gardens plays host to a competitive nine-race card.

The Group Three Festival Stakes is the feature race of the day, where 13 runners will meet the starter and battle it out over 1500m.

With warm weather forecast, the track is likely to be rated a Good 4 and the rail is situated in the true position.

At this set-up, the track should play fair and afford all runners their chance.

Michael's tips have generated $3,480 profit from $100 win bets over the past 90 days.

Rosehill Race 7 Tip #4 Moss Trip $11.00 each-way

This mare from the Snowden yard ran a solid second in Group Two company last start. She now looks well suited dropping in grade and stretching out to the 1500m.

She strips fitter now fourth-up, gets the services of gun jockey Nash Rawiller and only needs a moderate tempo up front to be flying over the top of them late.

There is moderate speed on paper but given this is Group Three class, it's likely that a few runners will push forward in the hope of on-pace favours.

This could inject further speed into the race, which would set the race up perfectly for the mare.

Rosehill Race 8 Tip #3 Glenall $10.00 each-way

The son of Redoute's Choice returned to Sydney and bounced back to form in nice style last start.

Off the back of a stunning Rosehill trial, he sat off a slow speed in a small field and managed to overcome a big swing in the weights to claim line honours.

His four wins have all come in Sydney and he's had a win and a second over this track and distance.

Drawn barrier three, jockey Josh Parr can sit mid-field with cover.

If the breaks come, he'll be the one charging over the top late.

Good value and worth an each way play.
