Derby Delights

There are plenty of early moves in betting for Derby Day markets, and we have identified the most significant plunges below.
At Flemington, the likely leader in the Coolmore Stud Stakes has attracted heavy support from punters.
Whilst at Rosehill, punters are confident a lightly raced Waller runner can chalk up the hat-trick of wins.
Flemington Tips
Kings Charisma
Maher/Eustace import who finally gets out to a suitable journey (2500m) after two good runs over 2000m and 1800m.
He has been grinding home well recently and at this distance will have every chance to reel in the leaders.
The stable are lethal when stretching out these stayers to their right trip.
El Patroness
Looks the class filly in this field and is likely to roll forward and race on or close to speed.
She was excellent last start at Caulfield when forced to work hard traveling wide yet still managed to place 2 of 11.
Given any cheap sectionals expect she has the ability to kick away from them in the straight.
Oxley Road
Peter Moody galloper who is stacked with ability.
He is rock hard fit now following the 3 runs this time in, and should be strong through the line over the Flemington 1200m.
The rider Blaike McDougall is looking to make a big impression in town, and should give the horse every chance.
In The Congo
Has speed to burn and should lead this field with ease.
He brings the strongest of Sydney form for the 3yo’s, after winning the Golden Rose where too sharp leading.
Expect he will fly along in front again and it will take a very good one to run him down.
Rosehill Tips
Katalin
Godolphin runner who simply loves racing first up (2:2-0-0).
She has been readied for this with two solid trial hit-outs and will be here to win.
There looks to be good speed early in this race, allowing for her to tuck in behind for the perfect suck run.
Mightybeel
Lightly raced (9:3-2-0) galloper who is looking for the hat-trick of wins here following the recent success at Randwick.
He sill appears untapped and is progressing through the grades nicely.
Expect he can reach stakes grade soon, hence should again be accounting for these in Benchmark 72 grade.
I’m Thunderstruck
Superstar in the making and still looks ok odds ($3.30) here, considering how impressive he was last start, against the absolute top-liners in the Toorak.
He is likely to get back in the run, however given any luck expect he simply runs home over the top.
Could start shorter.
Delexo
Was well supported in betting ($2.45 into $2.10) late at Randwick-Kensington last start, and gave nothing else a chance after leading throughout.
He can take control again here, in a race that does not appear to have an abundance of speed.
Although slightly back up in grade to Benchmark 78 level, he has been competitive in this class before (1:0-1-0).
