Ipswich Race 4 Tip #1 Smokin’ Pierro $3.20

This Michelle Payne trained 7YO finished third to the well performed stayer Grand Promenade twice recently at Flemington. 

Those efforts were in competitive handicaps and he now he looks well graded in this BM65.

At his last run at the Sunshine Coast, he got well back and lengthened late to finish fourth.

It was a real eye catcher and apprentice Kate Cowan partners him again here.

With the claim for Cowan, he carries 58.5kgs which is only 4.5kgs above the minimum.

He steps up to a more suitable 2180m trip and from barrier 2, can pick his position midfield.

Expect the son of Pierro to get himself back into the winner’s stall and smoke them late.

Randwick Kensington Race 3 Tip #2 Parachuter $6.00

This maturing 4YO mare has always had plenty of talent. 

Her current record reads as 3 wins from 7 starts, which would have been better if it wasn't for her poor barrier manners as a young filly .

Her first up run over the unideal 1000m trip at Wyong indicated she's come back stronger and with an improved temperament.

She was caught deep the entire trip, but still managed to put in a strong final 400m to finish just behind the leading division.

Last start over the more suitable 1200m at Goulburn, she jumped much cleaner and was able to land the perfect trailing position behind the leaders.

When they rounded the bend, she got an inside split to pull away for a convincing win and beat the short priced favourite Vittoriosa. That runner has since come out and franked that form by winning at Hawksbury last week.

Jockey Tim Clark takes the reins coming off a brilliant performance at Rosehill on Saturday, where he rode 3 Group / Listed winners.

Look for Clark to get Parachuter out of the barriers cleanly, taking up a prominent position in the run from the soft draw.

There isn't a lot of genuine speed in the race, but the tempo will be decided by the tactics of favourite Beep Test who has drawn out in barrier 9.

Either way, this shouldn't bother Parachuter who is versatile enough to take up a front running position or take a forward sit like last start.

The race shapes to give her the perfect set up and at the current price of $6, I think she is a great value play early on in the card.

Geelong Race 6 Tip #3 Indictment $7.00

Very surprised this promising four-year-old son of Street Boss is not shorter in the market.

His first-up run for his new trainer Clayton Douglas was a brilliant win, where he came from well back in the field.

On that occasion, he produced a 35.1 second split over the last 600m and 11.86 final 200m. 

He steps up in trip slightly to the 1343m and gets onto a bigger track, which will suit.

He beat La Zucca on the line last start at Cranbourne and I'm expecting that mare to win the opening race of the program at Geelong to frank the form. 

He might have just put his ability together now with the change of stable and he'll be hard to keep out late.

Randwick Kensington Race 8 Tip #11 Chateaux Park? $11.00

This son of Ocean Park finally broke through for his second career win last start and gets conditions to suit once again.

His best runs have come on rain affected tracks, which he will get here.

By the last race of the day they'll be searching for the best ground out wide, so look for him to settle last and come wide.

Although he goes up 2kg, his last start effort has him right in the finish. With track conditions in his favour, all we need is a good ride from Robbie Dolan to go very close to winning.
