27/11/20 Greyhound Tips for Sandown

This year's edition of the Melbourne Cup shapes up to be a belter.

The box draw has played a big part in how it will unfold, but this is the elite level and they only have to put a paw half wrong and it can cost them dearly.

On what is a cracking 12 race card at Sandown, the feature event is well supported by another Group 1 clash, the Bold Trease for the stayers.

 

 

Sandown Park Race 5 - Bold Trease (G1)

This is the big one for the stayers and it looks like a ripping race, with plenty of questions to be answered and statements to be made.

 

The Map 

Expect Sweet As Emm (2) and Blazing Cartier (4) to land in front, with Sir Truculent (7) and Manila Knight (8) in hot pursuit. 

Houdini Boy (6) may run alongside Sir Truculent, and Sunset Bourbski (1) could pop up anywhere.  

 

Analysis & Tips  

I have a rule with 700m+ races, in that they generally race flat second go at the trip. 

As a result, I can't take Sweet As Emm and have doubts over the favourite Houdini Boy .

Manila Knight didn't see it out last week so don't expect things to change tonight, whilst I can't see Ellias Bale troubling the front runners.

My Tips: 4, 7 & 6

 

Sandown Park Race 6 - Melbourne Cup (G1)

The Map 

So the all important start.

Simon Told Helen (2) gets the room to hold the fence, but Tiggerlong Tonk (8) will carve across from out wide. 

Shima Shine (7) will lob just behind him and expect Hard Style Rico (5) to wedge in between them.

They will be the first 3-4 dogs to round the first turn.

 

Analysis & Tips  

  Zipping Sullivan $51

Great effort to get in to the field. 

He steps and then goes, which won't suit here given Simon is set to jump straight out in front of him.

Will struggle.

 

 - Simon Told Helen $2.45

Looks to lead and hold the rail. 

If he can hug the fence, he will burn them off down the back!

His to lose.

 

 Tough Tears $71

Could pester some of the front runners, with the way he's been beginning of late.

But 29.60s won't be winning here and he could possibly make the race for the favourite by interfering with the trailing contingent.

 

 Lucy's Milo $101

Will be a four-year-old in a week.

An old marvel, but he looks to be out of his depth in this final.

 

 Hard Style Rico $5.50

This dog is an absolute weapon and he'd beat any of these one out. 

But he isn't the bravest dog around and jumping from box 5, the speed is either side of him. Expect him to find it all too much.

 

 Tommy Shelby $8.50

The people's dog!

Hasn't been beginning like we know he can, and will be swallowed up here from box 6.

 

 Shima Shine $4.40

I like this draw for Shima.

He should get the tag across from Tonk on the outside.

Will make Simon earn it.

 

 Tiggerlong Tonk $4.80

Again, I like this draw for Tonk.

He's won 6 races from box 8. He can run 5.06s from here and be right amongst the finish.
