With the Happy Valley turf track under renovations, today's meeting will be held at Sha Tin.

Eight races are scheduled on the all weather track, with nice and dry conditions in Hong Kong tonight. 

Joao Moreira scored a hat-trick last Sunday at this track, but is now suspended for the next 2 meetings.

David Hall will be celebrating his 58th birthday today and has 4 horses to race on his special day. Qipao Boss in the first race looks set to produce a good result for the birthday man.

 

 

Sha Tin Race 6 #4 Border Control $5.00

This Tony Cruz-trained 4YO will be ridden by Karis Teetan on his debut. 

This jockey-trainer partnership is having a great season so far and is worth following.

Border Control is sired by Brazen Beau, out of a Group 3 winning mare Just Discreet. This suggests he has the potential to be a great sprinter.

His barrier trial on 5 October was impressive, as he showed good speed from a wide gate.

He is now 1251 lbs, which is a positive sign for a debutant racing over 1200m on the all weather track.

Expect him to break his maiden in style.

 

Sha Tin Race 8 Tip #4 Sunset Watch $20.00

Sunset Watch won a race at a Sha Tin night meeting last season over the same course and distance, so he'll like this environment.

His recent performance was disappointing, but now his rating drops to 71, which is a lower grade than what he won at previously.

He's been doing well at Conghua of late. His barrier trial last Monday was great, jumping well to led all the way and score.

Alexis Badel takes the ride again and he knows the horse well.

Definitely worth a bet at the big odds!
