Midweek Victorian metropolitan racing takes place at Sandown Hillside on Wednesday, with a strong eight-race card scheduled.

The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 and the rail is out 8m the entire circuit.

Expect the track to suit on-pace runners, so punters should be on the look out for any leader bias early on.

Sandown Hillside Race 2 Tip #3 The Natural $3.60

The Natural returns from a spell for the McEvoy yard and has shown great talent in all of her four career starts to date.

She was very solid last prep in particular, winning well first up-in Adelaide.

The filly then tackled a BM64 at The Valley, where she ran well but narrowly went down to the talented Somals.

She comes here to Sandown fresh, and looks primed to put in a repeat performance of her first-up run last prep.

Her two recent jump-outs have been eye catching and she looks to be absolutely flying in her work.

She won the first one under a big hold over 800m, after showing great early speed to lead and dictate proceeding without being threatened.

Her second jump out was equally impressive, finishing second after sitting four wide throughout the entire trip. She hit the line very strongly in that clash, to record the fastest jump out time of the morning.

The booking of Damian Oliver is a big push here and I expect her to prove too classy.

Sandown Hillside Race 4 Tip #9 Key To The Mak $4.00

Luke Oliver has lightly-raced mare Key to the Mak racing in terrific fashion this prep.

The form around her recent runs has been franked, most notably three starts back when she defeated subsequent winner La Chevalee.

Her win last start over 1400m raised eyebrows, when she pulled away from a couple of handy gallopers.

Rising an extra 100m in distance for this clash really suits her racing pattern and she'll get the track conditions to suit, as she boasts outstanding stats on rain affected going (6:3-1-1).

She's got a terrific will to win and with Ollie on board, he'll be doing everything he can to gain ground on Craig Williams in the jockey's premiership.
