24/4/23 Sapphire Coast Best Bets and free tips for Monday Racing

The Sapphire Coast hosts NSW's only Monday race meeting after the abandonment of Coffs Harbour.

We are racing on a Good 4 surface and the rail is out 5m from the 800m-370m.

A cutaway is in use meaning you will want to be up on pace, especially with the drying track.

Should play to leaders and a few runners get the perfect set-up.

 

Sapphire Coast Tips from Luke Hovhanesian

 

Race 2 1008m BM58 #1 Puerto Rico $4.20

This Gelding is the class runner of the field and fittingly has to carry 64kg.

Coriah Keatings takes the reins and knocks off 3kg to bring him down to 61kg.

He has been racing well this campaign without much reward.

I want to go on his run from two back at Goulburn where he was only pipped over the final 50m to As You Were.

There are no runners to the level of that winner in this event and a similar run from Puerto Rico will see him get home here.

He also finally also strikes a good track this prep where he has a great record of 3:2-0-1.

From barrier 5 should find the front comfortably in the small field and with an even tempo to suit will prove hard to run past.

 

Race 7 1408m BM58 #1 Victory At Omaha $4.40

This gelding only had the single trial into his first up run where he contested a much stronger race than this at Kembla.

He now drops in grade and while he rises in weight gets the services of Louise Day who rides very well at the Sapphire Coast.

He will strip fitter for his first up run and be hard to run past here.

He is a natural front-running type, and from barrier 2 should be prominent early.

He is 2/2 a the track and 1/1 over the course and distance.

A few of his main rivals here either will need the run or have landed bad speed maps in comparison.
